Labor rates listed on the front of this invoice. All jobs have a one hour minimum labor charge and time is rounded up to the nearest quarter (¼) hour thereafter. There will be a one hour “No Show” fee if the client does not cancel a minimum of 24 hours in advance. These rates also apply to systems set up for remote administration or debugging. The expert witness rate is $300/hr. Jobs started after normal business hours (M-F 10 am - 6 pm), that require immediate attention will be billed at time and a half and are not discountable. The helper rate, for jobs that require one, is $75/hr.

Estimates do not bind in any way a final total amount to be paid. An estimate is just that; a best guess, good faith educated approximation of how long a job may take (under normal operating conditions explained by the customer or surveyed by an agent of Winter Computer Solutions), or how much materials may cost  (without knowing the up-to-date retail prices). The estimates will never be a quote. The quoting of a job is a final price for the materials to be sold. A quote will never have the labor added to it until the job is completed. Upon completion of a job the invoice will be generated, which will have the final materials, mileage, extended travel time and labor total to be paid. The remaining balance must be paid in full within 30 days from the billing date. Interest on over due bills is compounded at 1.5% per month, If a bill is past due by 31 day’s Winter Computer Solutions will charge triple the labor total, to a maximum of $1500. Checks, Money Orders, Cashiers Checks that Winter Computer Solutions bank cannot collect funds on, will result in the total amount of the bill due immediately with a $50.00 per offence fee applied immediately. In addition to the bill being due immediately, and a $50.00 fee, Winter Computer Solutions will not accept any check, money order or cashier’s check ever again from the individual or company.

Extended travel time is billed at $1/mile from Winter Computer Solution’s office location. All destinations not including the return trip to Winter Computer Solution’s office location have a one hour minimum labor charge and are billed at $1 per mile. Times and distances are determined through the technicians TomTom GPS units. Expenses such as invalidated parking, bridge tolls, long distance calls, manufacturer’s fees for tech support, et al, will be billed at cost.

There is no charge for the first 10 minutes of telephone technical support calls. This allows us to address quick, easy or common questions for no charge. Thereafter, telephone technical support calls will be billed at the rate of $2 per minute.

Special rates may be granted to “not for profit” altruistic organizations. Discounts do not apply to expert witness labor fees. Any job that for hardware installations/sales require a prepayment on all hardware to be sold. Extended or ongoing work can be set up with a monthly billing or on a retainer. Service contracts are available.

Returns and/or configured, cancelled systems are subject to a 20% restocking fee. There will be no refunds on memory, CPU’s, opened software, hard drives, non-packaged materials and non-manufacture defective damaged materials or other hardware that cannot be easily tested. Returns/exchanges must be in new condition with their original packaging. There will be no refunds or exchanges on special order materials. All monitors, notebook, laptop, handheld computer and printer sales are final; service is provided by the respective manufacturer. Used materials will not be employed without full disclosure to and authorization from the client.

We practice triage. Any job can be rescheduled if a circumstance of higher priority arises. If a client requires Winter Computer Solutions to reschedule an existing appointment to put them into the time frame, the client will be billed at time and a half plus a fee of $50.00 and the job is not discountable.

We pay a very generous referral fee of 10% of the net labor, on the first job, for a new client.

Warranty

Unless otherwise noted, all systems come with the warranty of their respective manufacturers. No warrantee will be issued unless the labor/hardware/software is paid for. This parts and labor warranty in no way constitutes an insurance policy. We understand that future problems may occur, however if the problems are caused by anything other than our work we cannot issue a warranty credit.

A 1 year labor warranty and a 5 business day material warranty is the default on most components under normal operating conditions. Different length warranties apply on many components, consult the accompanying documentation. Nothing last forever, therefore it is the customer’s responsibility to back up critical data or arrange to have it done on their behalf. The hardware/labor warranty does not extend to data recovery or reinstallation in the event of such a loss. We are not responsible for any damage or data loss caused by software not written by Winter Computer Solutions (i.e. viruses, application software, operating software, et al).  Winter Computer Solutions does not warranty virus or spyware damage on computers on which either we, or the client have installed security measures to prevent them, due to the abundance of these malicious programs on the internet. There is only a 5 day warranty on Laptop Power Jacks.

This warranty is void if, at the decision of the manufacture/vendor, the device/system has been physically abused or modified without prior written authorization from the manufacturer. The information and diagrams furnished by the respective manufacturers are believed to be accurate and reliable. However, no responsibility is assumed by the manufacturer for its use beyond those specified in the description, nor for any infringements of patents or other rights of the third parties which may result from its use. No license is granted or implied under any patent or patent right of the manufacturer. Software is licensed to each customer on an individual basis in no way authorizes that customer to distribute that software or otherwise act as an agent of Winter Computer Solutions or the software’s author(s) without prior written authorization.
